Tesla is Elon Musk's automotive and clean energy company. It develops and manufactures popular electric vehicles, home energy storage systems, solar panels, solar roof tiles and related products and services for residential and industrial customers. Tesla sources its car and home batteries (Powerwall) from three suppliers: CATL, LG Energy Solution and Panasonic, the latter of which has located part of its battery production at the Tesla Gigafactory Nevada. Tesla is also currently expanding its own battery production capacity. Tesla also manufactures Tesla Solar Roof and Tesla Solar Inverter, while regular solar panels it buys from other companies. For larger customers Tesla provides an online platform that enables automated real-time demand forecasting and energy management, as well as a comprehensive Megapack energy storage system. For residential customers, the company operates a virtual energy company in Texas called Tesla Electric which controls the network of Powerwalls.
