1
Eavor
Funding: $569.1M
Eavor is developing next-generation geothermal technologies. Unlike traditional geothermal systems (which require either direct access to hot aquifers or hydraulic fracturing), Eavor-Loop extracts heat from hot rock through conduction. Hot rock is found virtually everywhere beneath our feet, meaning Eavor can extract energy from virtually anywhere on the planet. Eavor-Loop is a closed-loop geothermal system drilled deep into the Earth via a series of multi-lateral wells. The system contains and circulates a patented working fluid that transfers heat from the rock. The fluid circulates naturally, without the need for an external pump, thanks to the thermosiphon effect. The heat is then used in commercial heating systems (e.g., greenhouses, district heating) or to generate electricity using conventional heat to power motors.
2
E3 Metals
Funding: $81.9M
E3 Metals is a lithium company with the goal of producing battery-quality lithium products to power the growing electrical revolution.
3
GeologicAI
Funding: $77.7M
GeologicAI is a technology company that provides core scanning, core logging, and mineral identificatoin. It uses AI to analyze rock scans.
4
Orennia
Funding: $25M
Orennia provides an all-in-one data, analytics and insights platform for efficient, fast and accurate capital allocation decisions in energy transition spaces.
5
Ayrton Energy
Funding: $7.2M
Ayrton Energy has developed e-LOHC technology - a combination of liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) and electrochemistry - for the safe storage and transportation of hydrogen. Unlike traditional hydrogen storage in cryogenically cooled high-pressure tanks, e-LOHC stores hydrogen as a liquid at room temperature, allowing it to be transported like diesel fuel using existing fuel infrastructure. e-LOHC uses a carrier oil that readily absorbs and releases hydrogen gas, like hydrogen sponges. Hydrogen molecules chemically bond with the lean carrier fluid through an electrochemical reaction, creating a safe, energy-dense hydrogen storage medium. When needed, hydrogen is released from the carrier fluid and delivered at a purity sufficient for fuel cells.
6
Novus Earth
Funding: $5.8M
A deep-well advanced geothermal technology company and project developer, focusing on direct use opportunities.
7
Infinidium
Funding: $100K
Infinidium is developing the world’s most efficient Datacenter infrastructure while providing inexpensive High Performance Computing services on the Cloud with lowest environmental impact available in a rapidly growing marketplace
8
Kanin Energy
Kanin Energy implements waste heat-to-electricity and other decarbonization projects for heavy industry. The company designs, finances and operates these projects on a turnkey basis. Its waste heat recovery systems capture heat generated during industrial processes to generate electricity or thermal energy using various technologies: organic Rankine cycle (which converts thermal energy into mechanical work through the continuous evaporation and condensation of a circulating working fluid), steam Rankine cycle (similar to the organic Rankine cycle, but using steam as the working fluid), Brayton cycle (based on the supercritical compression/expansion of CO2), and Kalin cycle (using a binary mixture of two working fluids, typically water and ammonia).
