Storelectric creates large-scale, long-term energy storage systems. Its technology combines compressed air storage (CAES) and hydrogen storage. Its projects utilize underground salt caverns (either newly built or repurposed from oil and gas storage) for large-scale, long-term storage of hydrogen and electricity. A pressure-control system allows hydrogen to be stored at the same pressure as its production (30–300 bar), minimizing energy consumption during storage.
