Greenlyte Carbon Technologies is developing a low-temperature process for directly capturing carbon dioxide from the air and e-fuel production. The startup has built its own pilot plant, which captures 40 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere annually and produces approximately 5 tons of synthetic natural gas. The plant is based on Greenlyte's LiquidSolar platform for producing environmentally friendly molecules. The technology combines carbon capture with syngas production - a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide that can be converted into various e-fuels, such as LNG, e-methanol and sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF). Greenlyte plans to build a large-scale e-methanol plant in Marl, Germany, by 2027.
